Spread: the favorite must win by more than the number. "KC -5.5" means Kansas City has to win by 6 or more for a bet on them to win.
Total (over/under): the combined points both teams score. Bet the over if you expect more, the under if you expect fewer.
Moneyline: a bet on who wins outright. -200 means you risk $200 to win $100; +170 means a $100 bet wins $170.
Line movement: sportsbooks move lines as money comes in and news breaks. A big move made by most books at once is called a steam move, often a sign of professional money.
